THINGS TO SEE TODAY

USD500,000-a-month Rent

Someone from somewhere (this piece of information was not revealed by the hotel) has rented the 39th floor of the Pierre Hotel in NYC for USD500,000 (yes, half a million) for the month of December. I am assuming that includes New Year's Eve too? Who knows! The Wall Street Journal reports that the apartment "has 4,786 square feet of living space, six bedrooms and 6½ bathrooms, including the Presidential Suite. The unit overlooks Central Park, the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir and the George Washington Bridge, among other sights." Right. It makes sense now. No! Not really.

Considering the place would normally cost USD30,000 a night the monthly rate is actually a bargain (no!). Anyhow, just to make sure the same somewhere also booked a separate suite in a different floor for guests and/or additional entourage at the price tag of USD150,000. Phew!
